a few snippets of my twenty thirteen

I really don't know where to begin with this post. I could ramble and ramble, but I'll keep it short and sweet. I've had one of the most insane years of my life; I got a taste for travelling, a (dangerous) taste for spending too much money, visited some of my favourite places, saw some of my favourite bands live, had my heart broken and then mended again, worked harder and played a little too hard, bought a house with my best friends and got my braces off, wahoo!

The start of the year was a pretty relaxed - i was in my second semester of my first year of uni, and the only thing on my mind was having fun. I think I definitely achieved that. I also went to visit a friend in London and explored one of my favourite cities, but other than that, the first half of the year is one big blur, full of drunken nights, hungover mornings, working and attempting to blog inbetween. I turned nineteen at the start of May, which is where the year went on a bit of a downward spiral. I found out what it felt like to have my heart broken, and although it seemed like the end of the world at the time, i've learnt so so much about myself, i'm actually quite thankful for it now.

Travelling europe was definitely the highlight of my year and apart from time, was the key to making me feel like myself again after a pretty massive low. We did so much exploring (even if somedays we were too hungover to see) met  amazing people and never stopped laughing. It's given me some sort of travelling bug, and I can't wait to see what summer 2014 brings. After the summer, I went a tad crazy and ended up driving my finances into the ground. so, for me, twenty fourteen is about putting twenty thirteen behind me (the bad bits, anyway), but bringing everything I learned with me to make this year my best yet.
