#NE1nfw blogger's preview event

With Newcastle Fashion Week fast approaching, Saturday saw DDCA hosting the blogger's preview event in Bonbar, a beautiful venue nestled in the centre of Newcastle. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco and took a seat in the most elegant bar, where the (rather tasty) bartender shook up the official cocktail of Newcastle Fashion Week, a fragrant mixture of rhubarb voddy, pink lemonade and nettle cordial. Yes, it tasted just as good as it sounds (and no, you're definitely not supposed to eat the floating potpourri).

After Sandra Tang, the marketing and events manager of NE1, and Danielle Dunn from DDCA gave us an exclusive look into and got us all excited for this years Newcastle's Fashion Week, we were free to mingle, which for me naturally involved consuming a copious amount of cocktails, throwing cake into my mouth at 100mph and attempting to remain classy. A couple of challenges ran throughout the event; name the official cocktail and snap a selfie for the chance to win a Fashion Week tee (which are amazing this year, believe me). Naturally, my selfie is too hideous for words, but you can have a giggle and take a peek here.

This fabulous creature taking his selfie is Dan from The Galmour Sutie who happened to share my love for prosecco and cake. In fact, I got the chance to meet some of the loveliest ladies which only makes me more excited for Fashion Week to commence. After some networking and gaining a few pounds from cake consumption, we were treated to false lash application from the wonderful ND Makeup. I usually don't wear false lashes; glue runs into my eyes, lashes end up stuck to my cheeks, it's just a disaster. However, I felt completely safe in the hands of the MUA who applied them with complete ease. I wore them for work after the event, and it's safe to say I've never earned so many tips.

For more information on Newcastle Fashion Week, click on over to their Facebook page and keep your peepers peeled for exciting events happening in the run up to week, including Most Stylish (trot to Northumberland street in your best clobber for the chance to be snapped). It's safe to say, an event full of amazing bloggers, cocktails, cake and inspirational women is a winner in my eyes, and I'm all the more excited for Fashion Week to get under way.

  4. Absolutely beautiful venue!! The environment was unbelievable. The use of wood throughout the place adds a very warm and inviting feel to venue. I was simply amazed at the architecture!

  10. After booking our wedding for October 2013, Jeff worked endlessly to ensure we had the type of wedding we wanted; an amazing menu, and every last detail that made it feel like "our" special day.
