blazer - zara (sale) // riding pants - american apparel via ebay // cami - topshop // boots - topshop

the blazer was a purchase made on a total whim as we sprinted along princes street in edinburgh to catch our train home. i spotted it in the window, saw it was in the sale, and didn't even stop to think. It's definitely not something i'd usually go for, but i'm quite liking having some colour in my life. ooh and my riding pants finally came! it's only taken me a year to buy some, but i'm pretty pleased i did; they do feel a little like they're preventing blood from circulating into my feet, but apart from that they fit perfectly!

so edinburgh was such a beautiful city; the old town was home to some of the nicest little shops i've ever been in, and the newer bit was full of the high street favourites, so there was no shortage of potential purchases. i think i hovered around in the kooples for at least an hour, picking up the most amazing clothes and then remembering i'm too poor and i'm a peasant. i also saw a man playing the bagpipes and concluded i really do not like the bagpipes. although the weather was a bit shit (see frizzy top knot and sexy emergency waterproof image below) and i fell off a curb infront of a group of Japanese tourists i had such a lovely two days eating, shopping and exploring - perfect!

cami - tophshop // skirt and belt - scarlet ribbons vintage, durham //
shirt - deep vintage, newcastle // boots - topshop

when i walk into 'vintage' shops, i always feel a little overwhelmed by the millions of rails and shelves to rake through and normally end up leaving with nothing, after giving up on rummaging. scarlet ribbons and deep are two stores i find the complete opposite; easy to browse and sorted into sections making finding a certain piece a breeze. I've wanted a denim skirt for a while now, and when I spotted this gem i knew i had to snap it up. it looks lovely with so many different items in my wardrobe and i know it'll not only be a summer staple, but wearable during the colder months too!

i need to also learn to position my camera so my head doesn't look three times the size of my body. okay. how nice is this hot weather?! i'm say typing this in my garden, and i'm literally melting. it's so nice to be able to get use out of all the summer clothes i bought on a whim; remember that one warm day in april? yeah. i am going to attempt to make outfit posts more regular on my blog again, it's just sometimes hard to find the time to take the photies, what with my chaotic life and busy schedule...

amy loves; estee lauder art of eyes

DSC08227DSC08223
for years, my go-to eye look has always been the smokey eye - from day to night, this look is incredibly easy to achieve and can easily be adapted depending on how dramatic you want your smokey eye to be. However, sometimes finding the perfect products to use can be difficult, and thats why the Estee Lauder dramatic smoky eye kit is completely ideal; an eyeliner, eyeshadows, concealer and a mascara all in one adorable make-up bag.

art of eyes dramatic smoky eye kit - estee lauder £32*

i very rarely wear kohl pencil on my waterline, as after a couple of hours it tends to be half way down my cheeks, yet this pencil allows me to sport the look without any disasters happening. It's a true black colour, meaning it can be worn along the upper lash line too, easy to smudge to create a grungey look. As for the mascara; wow, this stuff is good. It's a little too good for day time wear, but it's just perfect for when you want a little more drama. It's extremely black, and the brush is HUGE meaning every last lash is coated, surprisingly, without any clumps.

The double wear concealer is the product which surprised me the most; i'd heard so much hype surrounding the foundation, yet none really around the concealer so i wasn't really sure what to expect. I'm really impressed with the coverage of this product, although a little harder than others to blend, it's the perfect colour and provides incredible coverage. This is definitely a product from the kit i'll be re-purchasing. So, four amazing products in one little bag, i'd say that's a pretty good deal. have you tried any estee lauder products, what should i invest in?
